44 societies, 4,541 society-years (1900–2025), 126 coded rupture events drawn from the Cline Center Coup d'État Project, V-Dem's episode data, and Reinhart/Rogoff crisis records. Honest leave-one-country-out cross-validation on the pooled outcome barely clears chance (AUC 0.563, ns) — but splitting ruptures by CAMS's own deficit-crisis vs. coordination-transition typology (institutional coordination capacity already failed beforehand, n=76, vs. institutions still functioning, n=41) reaches AUC 0.740 for deficit crises (p<.001, 26/29 countries above chance), using only structural coordination metrics. Panel-wide, rising stress suppresses expressed institutional cognition in 41/42 societies and coordination strength in 42/42 — a regularity holding across every region and era in the panel, not just around crises.
As of 2025, South Africa, Venezuela, and the USA are each at or above their own all-time CAMS stress readings within the 125-year panel — the US reading now exceeds its 1932 Great Depression peak. All three show measurable Archive (institutional memory) degradation and elevated deficit-crisis probability. Consistent with the earlier US Interest Burden and Legitimacy studies, CAMS slow-node decay leads observable downstream outcomes at both the single-country and cross-national scale.
The JUNO eight-node field admits a proposed "Paladin" interpretive layer that renders each society-year as character: which node dreams (argmax of abstraction×coherence), which can act (argmax of capacity−stress), which bears the burden (argmin of capacity−stress), and how far dream and energy are aligned across the configuration. An adversarial audit — first over a 3,002-society-year blind corpus, then over the full 32,361-node-year JUNO Unified Dataset (4,033 complete society-years) — found that three of the four constructs are deterministic relabellings of node extrema with no incremental empirical content, while dream–energy alignment is non-redundant against marginal covariates and temporally persistent (lag-1 r = 0.747) yet does not predict subsequent viability decline or regime transition (AUC ≈ 0.48, chance level).
The audit documents and corrects its own mid-analysis error — a data-keying fault that initially produced a spurious null for alignment — and closes with a locked reporting protocol: operator declaration, a numerical leash on every headline claim, and a three-level interpretation firewall separating computed result, rendering, and historical hypothesis.
Eight anonymised societies (1,201 society-years, 232 inflection points) were subjected to full nation/year blinding under the JUNO-1.0 formalism. Core formulas — institutional health, bond strength, and cognitive activation — passed at machine precision. On reveal the eight societies were identified as Germany, Norway, Russia, UK, Chile, Poland, Argentina, and Australia. Russia exhibited militarised stagnation: Shield dominant at +99 while productive nodes are negative or near-zero, with 41% of years in local institutional failure. Poland is the only chronic-distress society — every personality node negative, nearly half its years strained, 28% in systemic crisis. Argentina shows fragile equilibrium with no stable consolidation years. Australia is recovering mixed — strong knowledge and exchange, but the weakest governing authority among Western democracies.
The blind test provides conditional evidence that eight societies behave as structurally distinguishable complex adaptive systems. Their measurable phase-space signatures survived nation/year blinding, corresponded to historical political outcomes, and generated emergent cognitive-affective profiles that no single existing partial paradigm reproduces in full.
CAMS does not replace institutional economics, cliodynamics or historical sociology. Rather, it unifies their discriminations as lower-dimensional projections of a coupled node-network topology, in which social functions, stress, memory, capacity, abstraction and connectivity interact as a measurable adaptive system.
PCA across 7,880 node-year observations establishes that four CAMS diagnostic metrics compress to one dominant empirical dimension (PC1 = 72.7% variance, range 47–89%). Node-pair coupling varies 0.41–0.91 across 18 societies, predicting structural resilience vs. cascade failure. Crisis fingerprint matching against 17 historical precedents finds current Western democracies (USA ρ = 0.97; Germany ρ = 0.99; UK ρ = 1.00) in stress states comparable to historical severe crises, with 5–12 year recovery timelines indicated. Twelve falsifiable predictions registered for prospective validation 2026–2028.
Alen Kaminski's Anatomy of Chaos and The Dynamics of Expansion propose an ambitious psychohistorical architecture in which biological constants, inherited archetypes and socio-cultural paradigms interact through named channels, thresholds and phase transitions — Hardware, BIOS and Operating System; Ascent, Catalysis and Mnemonic channels; the Cross-System Equilibration Loop; the Instability Coefficient, Archetypal Activation Index and Structural Gradient; the Crisis Triad, Empty Throne, Agent of Singularity, Horror Vacui and more.
This paper argues that CAMS provides a more parsimonious generative account of much of the same phenomenology: the same fixed eight-node, four-dimension state space (Coherence, Capacity, Stress, Abstraction across Helm, Shield, Lore, Stewards, Craft, Hands, Archive and Flow) describes ordinary operation, crisis, mythology, leadership selection, mobilisation, expansion, fragmentation and recovery — without introducing a separate psychic layer or phenomenon-specific mechanisms. Kaminski's Hero, Shadow, Lawgiver, Golden Age and Empty Throne are treated as recognisable phase states of a distributed social-cognitive system. A programme of blinded model comparison, ablation and out-of-sample prediction is proposed to test whether this theoretical economy translates into scientific advantage.
Vi Nhat Son's Sovereign–Civilian Capacity Dynamics (SCCD) compresses political development into two aggregate capacities — sovereign surplus capacity S(t) and civilian capacity C(t) — and their differential Δ(t) = S(t) − C(t). At first sight this looks more parsimonious than CAMS, which records four attributes across eight recurrent social functions. But SCCD's two headline variables decompose into ten heterogeneous latent constructs, fourteen proxy formulae, multiple non-linear aggregators, threshold functions and feedback loops, while CAMS repeats a single small measurement grammar — the same four questions asked of each of eight functionally defined nodes.
This paper argues SCCD exhibits scalar parsimony, while CAMS exhibits a stronger generative or architectural parsimony: most SCCD components can plausibly be reconstructed as projections across CAMS nodes, but the reverse is generally impossible, since aggregating into S, C and Δ destroys information about which social functions are carrying capacity, cognition, stress and activation. This does not establish CAMS as superior — its economy may conceal flexibility in archetypal interpretation and complexity within the scoring process — and the claim remains conditional on ablation, independent scoring, nested-model comparison and out-of-sample tests.
